Airítear Seosamh Mac Grianna Mar dhuine de Mhórscríbhneoirí próis Na Nua-Ghaeilge. I 1935 agus gan é ach tríocha cúig bliain d’aois d’éirigh an scríbhneoir tréitheach seo as an scríbhneoireacht. Saol tragóideach a bhí aige. Chuir a bhean agus a mhac lámh ina mbás féin agus chaith Seosamh bliain agus tríocha faoi chúram dochtúirí in Ospidéal Siciatrach i Leitir Cheanainn. Sa bheathaisnéis so-léite seo déanann an t-údar iarracht pictiúr beacht ionraic a tharraingt den scríbhneoir ó fhianaise agus ó chuntais daoine a raibh acu air.
Seosamh Mac Grianna is recognised as one of the greatest prose writers of modern Irish. In 1935 however at the age of thirty five, this talented writer gave up writing. His life was tragic. His wife and son both committed suicide and he himself spent over thirty years in the psychiatric Unit in Letter Kenny Hospital. In this easy to read biography the author attempts to paint an honest exact picture of the writer and his work, based on written evidence and conversations with some of Mac Grianna’s acquaintances.
