Treasures from The National Library of Ireland
Edited by Noel Kissane
Presented by the Boyne Valley Honey Company 1994
The National Library of Ireland is a major repository of literary and cultural heritage. It holds close to one million books and has extensive collections of newspapers, manuscripts, drawings and photographs. In addition, the Genealogical Office which holds the records of the former Office of Arms (established in 1552) is linked to the library.
The one hundred treasures featured in this selection have come from the four corners of Ireland, from Britain, continental Europe, the United States and Australia, and are now preserved for posterity in the collection of the National Library.
