This book gives us a glimpse of the Irish language dimension of 18th century Dublin, then a bilingual bicultural city, by describing the interest of Anthony Raymond, a Protestant minister and scholar, in Irish and in the community that spoke Irish. We get to know the most prominent members of that community, Seán and Tadhg Ó Neachtain, Aodh Buí Mac Cruitín and Diarmaid Ó Conchubhair. The book throws new light on various aspects of Irish learning.
