Níl aon duine is mó a bhfuil Gaeilgeoirí faoi chomaoin aige ná an tAthair Pádraig Ó Duinnín. Foilsíodh a chéad fhoclóir 1904, agus an Foclóir Mór 1927, agus is air atáimid ag brath fós chun focail Ghaeilge a mhíniú dúinn.
Ni raibh sna foclóirí ach cuid d’obair an Duinnínigh. Sular thug sé faoin fhoclóireacht chor ar bith bhí obair ríthábhachtach déanta aige ag cur filí na Mumhan in aithne don phobal. Is éachtach an saothar tiargála a rinne sé, gan de ghléas aige, ar feadh fhormhór a shaoil, ach a dhá láimh féin.
Ba iontach an duine é an Duinníneach, agus tá sé féin agus cuid mhór dá chomhaimsearaigh beo beathach sa chuntas seo.
Tugtar mórán eolais spéisiúil dúinn faoi cheannairí Chonradh an Gaeilge agus a gconspóidí agus faoi ghnéithe eile den tréimhse seo a bhí chomh tábhachtach sin i stair an náisiúin.
Gné ar leith den leabhar an léiriú éifeachtach ar dhúthaigh an Duinnínigh, Sliabh Luachra, agus a muintir. Meallfaidh an cuntas ata anseo mórán léitheoirí chun triail a thabhairt ar dhúthaigh stairiúil seo na bhfilí.

There is no one that is owed more by Gaeilgeoirí than Fr. Dineen. His first foclóir was published in 1904, and the An Foclóir Mór in 1927 and we are still depending on him for the meaning of Irish words.
The Dictionaries were only a part of what Dineen did. Before he worked on the dictionaries he had done very important work introducing the poets of Munster to the public. He produced heroic work using only his own two hands.
Dineen was a wonderful man and there is an account of his life included in this book, and also of some of the people who lived at that time.
There is also a lot of interesting information included about the leaders of Conradh na Gaeilge, their problems and current affairs at the time that were important to the History of the Nation
One part of the book is about Dineen’s part of the Country – Sliabh Luachra and its people.
