‘Kerry’s Football story’ by ‘P.F.’ was published in 1945 and the county welcomed the thrilling story of its unique contribution to the GAA up to that time. The sheer volume of success since and, perhaps, the mystique and virtual myth behind those successes and some failures seems to have proven too daunting a task for anyone to undertake in the meantime. That is until now, when Jimmy o Sullivan-Darcy from the Spa GAA Club has produced this history of Kerry GAA activities on the field of play. As it covers results of inter-county championships, as well as county football and hurling championships, colleges, handball and ladies’ football, it is a long overdue publication and, accordingly, very welcome.
