This volume, edited by Professor Pádraig Ó Riain of University College Cork, brings together a series of papers designed to examine the achievements of the Society and to trace in outline the history of its first hundred years. In addition to the editor, Drs Pádraigín Riggs, Neil Buttimer, and Kevin Murray of University College Cork, Professor Ellis Evans of the University of Oxford, and Professor Ó Cuív contributed to this very appropriate memorial to a remarkable achievement.
