Nach iontach an paróiste a bhronn Dia orainn, taobh na gréine de Chorca Dhuibhne ó Áth na Leac go Ceann Sléibhe. Tá saibhreas oidhreachta creidimh agus teanga, láithreacha beannaithe, teampall agus toibreacha ársa againn; tá seanchas naomh agus gaiscíoch againn; tá grá Dé agus comhar na gcomharsan againn; tá Muire mar éarlamh againn roimh chuairteoirí ó chéin agus ó chóngar; ceiliúraimid Eoin Baiste i Lios Póil, Caitlín i bhFionntrá, agus Lá ‘le Muire sa Daingean. Bíonn ceol sna séipéil againn agus a mhacalla sna tábhairní; bíonn diagacht sa Díseart agus Aifreann ag na stáisiúin; bíonn troscadh sa Charghas agus banna ceoil Lá ‘le Pádraig. Faigheann an crann a éagann beatha nua agus an chéad ghlúin eile léann, treoir, agus cúram.

What a blessing it is to be part of this parish community which enjoys such natural beauty of surroundings. We have a rich literary and musical and folklore tradition. An Seabhac gave us Jimín and Beir mo dúthracht go dúthaigh Duibhneach; Thomas Ashe gave us Let me carry your cross for Ireland, Lord. Eoin Duignan was inspired by the Díseart windows to give us Lumina Nuala Ni Domhnaill brings our folklore t life again. Every townland has its own religious character, strengthened often by the ‘stations’ or by the local turas at the well of Ciaran, or Micheál, or Manchán, or Bréanainn.
………………………….. Pádraig Ó Fiannachta, Tigh na Sagart, An Daingean
