Tá Liz fiche seacht mbliana d’aois agus d’éirigh go maith léi sa saol. Tá fear céile, mac agus iníon maith aici, agus tá cónaí orthu i dteach compordach cois na habhann i mbaile cois cósta nach bhfuil i bhfad ón gcathair. Ach, tá sí leamh, nó ceapann sí go bhfuil sí.
Úrscéal lyrical, tuisceanach agus liteartha suite i mbaile cois farraige in Éirinn an lae inniu. Insítear i nguth mná óig, Lís, a bhfuil a saol baile lena fear céile Muiris agus a bpáistí óga thíos leis nuair a thiteann sé i ngrá lena gcara Seoirse tar éis dó bogadh isteach leo.
Insítear trí shúile na mná céile, nascann an scéal saol na mothúchán le saol na hintinne agus taispeánann sé teacht in aois na gcarachtar agus scaradh na gcompánach ar deireadh.
Liz is twenty seven years old and has been quite successful in life. She has a good husband, a son and a daughter, and they live in a comfortable house by the river in a coastal town not far from the city. Yet, she is bored, or thinks she is.
A lyrical, thoughtful and literary novel set in a seaside town in today’s Ireland. Told in the voice of a young woman, Lís, whose home life with husband Muiris and their young children is undermined by falling in love with their friend Seoirse after he moves in with them.
Told through the eyes of the wife, the story combines the life of the emotions with that of the mind and shows the coming of age of the characters and the eventual parting of companions.
