In 1926 the Gaeltacht Commission published its report which laid down for the first time the official boundaries of the Gaeltacht and gave a new insight into the lives of the people living in the Gaeltacht. This book, illustrated with photographs of the time is based on the work of that commission. It’s publication at the same time as the publication of the report of the present Gaeltacht Commission was timely.
