ar chuid den ábhar sin.
Cuireann a tráchtaireacht dhátheangach na píosaí atá roghnaithe aici i gcomhthéacs go tuisceanach.
Tugann íomhánna ealaíonta an ghrianghrafadóra Lanka Haouche léargas breise físiúil ar an ábhar.
Aneas, meaning from the south, is a celebration of the rich vein of wisdom that is
to be found in the Munster folklore tradition of the West Kerry Gaeltacht. It is also
a collaboration between two artists who live in Corca Dhuibhne – the writer and
documentary film maker Brenda Ní Shúilleabháin, a native of Ceann Trá, and Lanka
Haouche, a French photographic artist who has made West Kerry his home.
Combining traditional proverbs, incantations and verse from the living oral tradition
Ní Shuilleabháin’s translations and bilingual notes skilfully give context to words of
wisdom that have been shared for many a generation. Haouche’s feel for the
landscape and the people of his adopted home shine through in every image.
