The first Gaelic wallchart of Ireland created for schoolchildren is credited to a West Clare schoolteacher Tomás Ó hAodh (1866-1935) This is the first detailed modern map available in the Irish language for general readership. With the Irish language now recognised as an official European language coupled with the ever increasing interest in and use of Irish both in Ireland and abroad, this Gaelic map provides a useful pocket companion for readers, young and old, native and tourist alike.
